Mel & Ren - Our Story

"Renee, you're up against some girl name Melissa"

That's how we first learned about each other 16 years ago - we were interviewing for the same Aquatic Coordinator position. Some people might find that threatening. We didn't. We found it intriguing that we were always neck in neck for the same jobs. We both swam competitively. We both loved to laugh. And when we had the opportunity to work together in the same facility, we became the truest of friends. So much so, that with our other amazing coworker and friend Tree's motivation, we ran our first half marathon together and even hit up the streets of New York for the 3 am showing of the Sex and the City premier (due to our mutual love for the show).

From 16 years ago to now, a lot has happened. We've developed and grown into leaders within our respective organizations. We've grown our families to include five beautiful girls among the two of us. We've pushed ourselves and achieved the sometimes unthinkable goals - getting our Masters (Mel- Masters of Leadership, Renee - MBA); running a marathon (for those of you that have done it, you understand how powerful this achievement can be), climbing Machu Picchu over 5 grueling days, and now starting up the business of our dreams. Oh, and we did go back to NYC in 2019 for an epic reunion that did not disappoint!

We know the power of moving forward. We understand how to take your dreams and goals and to transform them into the person you truly want to be, and into the life you want to live. Because we've done it, over and over again. Among fear, loss and failure. In between having kids, going through a separation and living in a pandemic with the rest of the world. We are everyday people, everyday moms that have the same struggles that everyone else does - but we were able to take life's challenges and turn them into beautiful opportunities. Life is long - only you can decide what kind of life you will live. We hope that you will choose to live a life full of exclamations.
